A mountain girl at heart, I've spent most of my adult life in pursuit of clear rivers, high summits, and endless wilderness. I was raised in the great western towns of Albuquerque and Denver, and like any good, adventurous mountain-woman, my eclectic resume runs the gamut from fly fishing guide and snowboarding instructor to high school English teacher and small business owner.
In 2018 I made the move from Los Alamos, NM to Del Norte, CO to begin a new life on a working cattle ranch and try my hand at parenthood. I am co-owner of a communications company that allows me to work remotely, so I can continue to help out on the ranch as needed and take care of my little cowboy. Writing will always be in my blood, however, so I maintain this site "just in case." |
Background

After receiving my Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Utah in 2006, I began my freelance career as a contributing writer for NewWest.Net, and I've been typing for a living ever since. During a brief hiatus from freelancing, I served as Social Media Manager for Los Alamos National Laboratory, sharing news and generating good press for the lab's cutting-edge science and technology. After leaving Los Alamos, I founded Fable Communications with my oldest friend, and the two of us have been doing what we love for causes we care deeply about ever since.

Beyond Writing
|
While not at my computer, I spend most of my time training four-legged critters of the equine, canine, and toddler varieties (herding cats has never been my cup of tea), growing small-town businesses (Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op, Del Norte Chamber of Commerce), and spending time in the great outdoors. Along with horseback riding and dog training, I am also an avid snowboarder, angler and mountaineer.
